In addition, The Better Project provides training and support services to parents and caregivers, independent practitioners, and provider organizations seeking to strengthen their connection with their children or build their professional or operational capacity to serve.
Mental Health Services
Hurt to Healed Program (H2H)
A program for individuals and families working to heal from relationship-based trauma.
H2H consists of a 12-week intensive counseling program and provides access to a range of trauma-informed services for youth and young adults, providing a safe, nurturing environment for them to develop the tools they need to handle past experiences, current feelings, and future crises. Services include working with family units to improve overall coping and psychosocial functioning, to stabilize the home environment, and promote healthy reunification.

The Better Child Welfare Training Academy (The Academy)
A program for child welfare professionals and organizations that serve Texas’s most vulnerable children.
The goal of The Academy is to foster cultural change and improve outcomes for child welfare system-involved youth and families. Rooted in the best practices of trauma-informed care, this education and training, technical assistance, and organizational development initiative is designed to increase access to high-quality mental health services by providing the most relevant training and ongoing support to staff, independent practitioners, and provider organizations.
Life Skills Development
Creating a Future Together (CRAFT)
A program for system-involved and at-risk teens and young adults ages 14-22.
CRAFT programming involves essential preparation for adult living lessons and integrates highly interactive skill-building opportunities, individualized coaching, and case management support, while developing and fostering long-term connections with trusted adults.
Mentoring
Being Unconditionally Dedicated to the Development of our Youth (B.U.D.D.Y)
B.U.D.D.Y. is a community-based coaching program that pairs youth/young adults with a volunteer mentor to facilitate effective growth and development.
BUDDY aims to positively impact the life trajectory of vulnerable young people while establishing lasting, meaningful connections with trusted adults.
